ANUNAYNAMA / MONEY EXPLAINED
Same EMI, longer loan?
Hindi audio and Hindi subtitles · AI-assisted narration and visuals
The explanation
A floating-rate increase can change your EMI, remaining tenure, or both. In a hypothetical ₹50 lakh loan with 240 months remaining, a rate change from 8.50% to 8.75% increases the same-tenure EMI by about ₹794 per month, or adds about 12.4 months if the original EMI is held. These are monthly reducing-balance calculations with a constant reset rate, no fees and no prepayments; your lender’s schedule may differ. Ask about the options available under your agreement.
